Dr. Wilner is a licensed clinical psychologist and mediator, who has been in private practice since 1993. She is the founder of Families In Transition, Inc. (FIT), a clinical psychology practice specializing in meeting the complex needs of divorcing families, with offices in Skokie and Schaumburg. FIT offers individual, couple, and group therapies for adolescents and adults, family and divorce mediation services, divorce coaching, parenting coordination, co-parent training, and custody evaluation services. She is also affiliated with Behavioral Psychology Associates, PC, a psychology practice addressing the needs of children, adults, couples and families, with offices in Schaumburg, Skokie, Arlington Heights, and Barrington.

In her private practice she works with adolescents, adults, couples and families addressing a wide range of issues including: mood and anxiety disorders; substance abuse; behavioral addictions; marital discord and infidelity; divorce counseling and coaching; mediation; custody evaluation; co-parent training; chronic pain disorders; and chronic illness. In her more than 15 years of practice she has presented community-based and professional seminars on a wide variety of topics including stress management, adult attention deficit disorder, substance abuse, couple’s communication skills, domestic violence, and working with high conflict divorcing couples.

Dr. Wilner received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology, with highest honors. She has been trained and certified in mediation by the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR), and mediates on their behalf. She has additional training in Family and Divorce Mediation through DePaul University’s Center For Dispute Resolution. She has also attended the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois’ (CLII), Interdisciplinary Collaborative Family Law Training Program, and works frequently with attorneys on collaborative divorce cases. She is currently serving as the Chair of the Training and Education Committee for CLII. Dr. Wilner is a member of the American Psychological Association, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, The Mediation Council of Illinois, The Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois, The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and the Association for Conflict Resolution-Chicago.
